The good, the bad and the paid links Most of the talk in the SEO world at the moment seems to be about paid links. Ever since Matt Cutts (the guy who heads up search quality for Google) came out with “Sites that sell links can lose their trust in search engines.” it seems the SEO world has been locked in debate. Matt Cutts does have a blog that I would advise you to keep an eye on, I'm not going to link to it because he offered to pay me! Well, not really... but someone could report that he did to Google... then what would happen?? All the big guns seem to be out in SES San Jose right now (its a Search Engine Strategies Conference) and the paid links debate seems to have continued. Rand at SEOmoz gives a decent account of what went on: read here I'm still trying to get my head around all this and decide where I stand. Of course Matt Cutts and the Google team want to better there search results, I just don't know if penalizing paid links is the way to do it. |
