Audi A6
The Audi A6 is an executive car produced by AUDI AG in Germany. It is available in both saloon and Avant (estate) body styles. Since its introduction, all models have been available with either front or four-wheel drive and as of 2010 there have been three generations of the range.
The new Audi A6 chassis features 20% aluminium to reduce weight. The chassis has been engineered to take the 4, 6 and 8-cylinder engines and is available in front wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive. Engine choices are 2.0-litre petrol and TDI diesel, 2.8 litre FSI and 3.0 litre TFSI petrol. The model range features six-speed manual, seven-speed S Tronic and eight-speed automatic gearboxes and, as you would expect, all models have power steering.
The Audi A6 2010 range boasts a number of improvements; the base engine gains an extra 10 bhp, thanks to Audi’s ‘valvelift’ system, which improves fuel efficiency; a satellite navigation system with touch pad input and a parking system with an active lane keeping assistant, which is helpful when manoeuvring the car in parking bays or parallel parking.
All used Audi A6 models come with antilock disc brakes, stability control, front seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. Rear seat side airbags are discretionary.
The Audi A6 has conservative good looks that project sleekness and power. The cabin is quite striking and impressive, being finished in expensive feeling materials and with the controls laid out in a logical manner. The interior is spacious and relaxing over lengthy journeys for both front and rear seat passengers.
