Audi A6
The Audi A6 is an executive car produced by AUDI AG in Germany. It is available in both saloon and Avant (estate) body styles. Since its introduction, all models have been available with either front or four-wheel drive and as of 2010 there have been three generations of the range.
The new Audi A6 chassis features 20% aluminium to reduce weight. The chassis has been engineered to take the 4, 6 and 8-cylinder engines and is available in front wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive. Engine choices are 2.0-litre petrol and TDI diesel, 2.8 litre FSI and 3.0 litre TFSI petrol. The model range features six-speed manual, seven-speed S Tronic and eight-speed automatic gearboxes and, as you would expect, all models have power steering. more
Audi S4 Avant
The Audi S4 Avant is a five-door, five-seat estate car with 25 years of technical research behind it. The car features a dynamic select drive, which alters the performance characteristics of the engine to suit your preferred driving style and this is matched with Audi’s superb seven-speed S tronic gearbox and sport differential. Other advanced features, such as dynamic steering and damper control make the driving experience safe and comfortable.
The Audi S4 Avant is powered by a range of engines; there is the 3 litre V6, which pushes out some 328bhp. This is less than the older 4.2 litre V8, which produced 339bhp, but it offers more torque, making the cars more responsive. The maximum torque produced by the car is 440Nm, between 2900-5300 rpm; which in layman’s terms means the car has immense pulling power. The smaller engine size has improved the car’s efficiency and made it more eco-friendly, with reduced CO2 emissions. more
bmw 3 series vs audi a4
The 2010 Audi A4 is appealing to a wide variety of luxury-car shoppers. The styling on the A4 is taut and clean both inside and out. It is available with quattro all-wheel drive creating a smooth ride and easy handling on many road surfaces. The avant wagon utility is also a nice addition as is the improved interior and backseat design found in the newer A4 line.
The Audi A4 is not without its shortcomings, however, starting with the Artificial steering feel with the optional Drive Select system. The Drive Select system is an expensive unnecessary distraction that most drivers will probably do better without. Audi does not offer the dual-clutch gearbox in the A4 line, a decision that leaves it without the gearbox functionality that many drives loved. The backseat, while roomy, sits low, which may be a complaint for some passengers. more
bmw 6 series vs audi a6
The BMW 6 Series is offered in one model, the 650i, and as either a four-seat coupe or a four-place convertible with a conventional, power-operated fabric top. Adding the Sport Package will firm up the ride and increase cornering grip, while ordering the variable-ratio Active Steering quickens low-speed turning response. It also offers two six-speed transmissions: a manual and a sport-oriented automatic.
The BMW 6 Series has a supple and quiet ride, the brakes are powerful, and despite nearly two tons of weight, handling limits remain high thanks to aggressive tires and a well-balanced rear-drive chassis. The highly praised 4.8-liter V8 makes 360 hp and 360 pound-feet of torque and provides forceful and sweet-sounding acceleration. A six-speed automatic is standard and a six-speed manual is an extra-cost option.
Unfortunately, the BMW6 Series offers little rear seat space, creating an uncomfortable back seat ride for many. more
Old Used Cars
At the outset, you will need to discover where you can get hold of a desirable classic model. There are car shows, auctions, special magazines, salvage yards, and the internet, all of which can provide you with an interesting range of options. Before you start contacting sellers, be clear in you mind whether you want a vehicle that is in full working order, or one that requires an extensive amount of work to bring it back to a roadworthy condition.
Unless the vehicle has been kept in a garage, or has been recently repaired, there is every chance it will have some areas of rust and a few other mechanical problems. Prior to investing in any basic used car, do research to find out how easily various spares and components can be found.
